How my tooth is restored using a dental implant?

Many people opt for dental implants in Sydney because it look and feel more like a natural teeth. Dental implants require the same level of attention and care you would give for our natural teeth. Once you decide on getting a dental implant to replace your missing teeth, you should fix an appointment with your implant dentist to discuss about the various treatment options available. After meeting with your dentist, he will develop a customised dental implant treatment plan based on your needs. First a cylindrical or tapered post made of titanium, is placed surgically into the jawbone. Then this area is left to heal and osseointegrate, or fuse with, your natural jawbone for a few days. When the two grow together to form a strong and long-lasting foundation for your replacement teeth, a small connector called an abutment is placed over the dental implant to connect the implant to the replacement tooth or teeth. Then a single tooth, an implant-supported bridge or dentures containing multiple teeth are then attached to the abutment depending on the number of teeth needs to be replaced.
